Cathedral Park Cohousing

Cathedral Park is Portland, Oregon’s newest cohousing community. We are creating a community of belonging, compassion, and curiosity—and we’re a fun bunch to boot! We own our urban hillside property with stunning views of one of the nation’s largest urban forests, Forest Park, and the iconic St Johns Bridge. We’re right next door to a large community garden and are building 31 Universally Designed (no stairs!) studio to 3-bedroom homes. Our site has easy access to downtown Portland and tech hubs, and we are within a few blocks of public transportation, and multiple restaurants, coffee shops, pubs, grocery stores, services, and more. All of our condo homes have full kitchens, laundry hook-ups, and common-space amenities.

Polestar Village

We are a spiritual community inclusive of diverse spiritual traditions or no tradition. We value mediation, yoga, sacred music, community service, introspection, and any practice that is conducive to the physical, mental and spiritual well being of our members. We currently have an acitve community and hold events on and off the land and will break ground on the housing piece of the community in the Fall of 2023. Many of us have moved to Fort Collins to participate in the forming of the communty. We are actively seeking investors / residents. We are unique in many ways including the diversity of housing types. We have everything from single family homes, micro apartments, 1, 2, 3, and 4 bedroom townhomes, live / work options, condos and more.  Our focus is on sustainable living, net zero energy, a walkable village that drastically reduces our dependency on the automobile and age-in-place design. Our educational non-profit will manage the common spaces and amenities.

Jesus People Community

Jesus People community is a group of around 200 people of all ages living communally in Chicago’s Uptown neighborhood. We pool our resources so that we can better serve those in need, primarily by running one of Chicago’s largest homeless shelters. We own and run several businesses that enable us to support ourselves and various members who work directly with the homeless each day. In addition, we provide subsidized housing for low income seniors, a food pantry for those in need, run a fair trade coffee house, a record label, recording studio, web design business, skate shop, art gallery, and several other things. Since forming in 1972, we have come to find that a deep well of creativity is tapped into when we live communally, and we are excited to see where the next few decades of living together will take us.
