Join Inés Ixierda of Sogorea Te Land Trust to learn about Rematriation and returning Indigenous lands to Indigenous hands

About the event

Think about your relationship to the occupation of the land in which you live. Whose ancestral land are you on? Do you have a relationship with its history? It’s people? Some of us have never asked ourselves these questions while others are all too aware of the present day impacts of the lineages of colonization.

How can we take the necessary steps to healing and repairing the relationships we have to this history and the land we live on? How can we be good guests, and how can we contribute to healing? As we imagine our futures navigating inequality, climate change, cultural shifts and other challenges, we have a chance to transform the ways we proceed.

Join the urban Indigenous women-led Sogorea Te Land Trust to reflect on relationships to land and healing legacies of harm through their work returning Indigenous lands to Indigenous hands while creating opportunities for all people to contribute to rematriation.

In this webinar, you will:

  • Understand rematriation and restoring sacred relationships between Indigenous people and their ancestral land
  • Learn what it means to heal and transform the legacy of colonization, genocide, and patriarchy
  • Learn about the issues impacting Indigenous communities today
  • Learn about and act in support of Indigenous community led work
