Welcome to Synchronicity Agriforestry Center – An Intentional Community in the Heart of the Horseshoe Hills, Montana Our story begins with healing – of land, body, and spirit After years of working with the VA and serving veterans through the WHOLEHEALTH program at our massage and wellness center in Bozeman, we felt called to go deeper. We envisioned a place where veterans, healers, builders, artists, and farmers could live in harmony with the land – restoring both nature and each other. We found our home on over 10 acres in the ruggedly beautiful Horseshoe Hills, nestled in Montana’s Gallatin Valley near Bozeman, Yellowstone, and the Missouri Headwaters. The property had been abused and eroded for generations, but we saw it as a perfect place to regenerate-not just soil, but souls. For the past decade, we’ve been actively rewilding the landscape in partnership with the USDA, planting hundreds of drought- and pest-resistant food forest species guided by Geoff Lawton’s permaculture principles. We’ve implemented swales, runoff capture, and pollinator corridors. Our property has been designated “highly erodible,” which makes it perfect for climate-resilient agroforestry experiments. But more than a farm, we are building a community of purpose Our Purpose & Principles Restore ecological integrity through permaculture, regenerative agriculture, and agroforestry. Provide trauma-informed care to veterans and others recovering from PTSD, addiction, incarceration, or chronic stress. Integrate ancient healing wisdom(like Taoist breathwork, balneotherapy, and plant medicine) with cutting-edge technology (e.g. VR-assisted therapy, robotic massage, infrared saunas). Cultivate self-sufficiency through aquaponics, renewable energy, and shared infrastructure. Build a resilient local economy rooted in mutual aid, shared stewardship, and decentralized leadership. Create a safe, welcoming space for people of all backgrounds who are ready to do the work of personal and planetary healing. We’re inspired by the permaculture ethic of Earth Care, People Care, and Fair Share – and we live by those ideals each day. What We Aspire To We’re in the early stages of building out a small cluster of cabins, a hoop house-based aquaponics system, and a shared wellness yurt that offers sauna, cold plunge, VR therapy, and bodywork for residents and guests. Our goal is to blend intentional community, therapeutic retreat, and working farm into a seamless, living model of what the future can be. We’re also creating programs in partnership with local nonprofits and the VA to help veterans transition from isolation and pain to purpose and joy. Through gardening, sweat lodges, breathwork, and simply walking the land, many have already started the path back to themselves. Join Us If you feel called to live close to the land, help build something from the ground up, and participate in a meaningful way of life, we welcome you to connect. Whether you’re a seasoned farmer, an herbalist, a carpenter, or simply someone with a heart for service, there’s a place for you here. We’re currently looking for: Volunteers and WWOOFers Long-term community members Healers and therapists Permaculture designers Builders and off-grid enthusiasts Come help us write the next chapter – not just of our story, but of yours.
