We are currently a group of 4 friends and co-investors who found each other through our individual searches for community and are located in Eureka Springs, AR. We are now in the planning and recruiting phase of this project, but have been meeting, planning and writing policies and legislation over the course of the past 2+ years and have created enough of a shared vision and mission to be able to invite more founding members who align with our values and ideally bring complimentary skill sets. We envision becoming members of the Federation of Egalitarian Communities, and as such, we put great value in cooperation, nonviolence, and resource sharing. We currently support ourselves individually, but plan to build several communal businesses that will eventually support the community and vice versa. Our membership is diverse, we have no central leadership and currently practice democracy while we learn more about and work toward Sociocracy and/or Sociocracy 3.0. We are looking for other co-founders who can help us bring this vision to a piece of rural land in or near Northwest Arkansas. We dream of multiple separate homestead plots as well as some dormitory style housing surrounding a large communal center where we share meals, agriculture, resources, tools, amenities and our communal businesses. Access to land and business ownership will be made equally accessible through different lease agreements – ownership, renter ship and scholarship. We encourage individuality and diversity in our members. We are looking for skilled, hardworking, responsible, self-motivated, and balanced individuals that share our values. Prospective members are encouraged, we are in line to purchase land this year – 2025!
We aim to create an aesthetically pleasing, health-promoting and environmentally conscious community with built in cultural expectations integrating self-care, therapeutic practices, life-cycle support, sustainable land stewardship and educational outreach. We believe that through love and respect, we can resolve all issues.
