About the Community

What we do

1 big house • 1 tiny house • cooperatively owned • 4.5 acres on the river • shared meals • shared decisions

Hello! We are the Apple Tree Co-op, a member owned and managed housing cooperative founded in 2023. We’re located just 2 miles outside of downtown Belfast on 4.5 gorgeous acres right along the Little River. We are dedicated to sharing things like the land, the kitchen, cooking, decision making, chores, having fun, game nights, work parties and weekly meetings.

We have one open bedroom ideal for a couple interested in joining our cooperative. The room is large, has its own entry, bathroom, a heat pump. Pets OK if they stay in your room/outside. Rent is $1300/month. Included in rent: fiber internet, wood heat, a purified well water system, in house washer dryer, a big backyard garden, an apple orchard and river access, friends.

You’d be a great fit it if you:

have experience living in a community or a strong desire to try
can commit to doing 5 hours of co-op work a week
want to grow deep relationships with the people you live with
want to join a shared food system and cook a group meal weekly
are interested in sociocracy, NVC, living with children, hosting work parties, gardening, apple trees, dance parties.
