Description
In this free resource guide written by Local Futures/International Society for Ecology and Culture (ISEC), there is a strong call that the leading causes of climate change are addressed.
ISEC argues that “globalization – that is, the deregulation of trade and finance through an ongoing series of ‘free trade’ treaties – is the driving force behind climate change. As a result, the climate problem can only be tackled effectively if governments stop subsidizing globalization, and begin pursuing a localization agenda instead.”
The 16-page paper was written by ISEC in the wake of the Paris climate talks last year. ISECÂ is a non-profit organization dedicated to the revitalization of cultural and biological diversity, and the strengthening of local communities and economies worldwide. Their emphasis is on education for action: moving beyond single issues to look at the more fundamental influences that shape our lives.
