The FIC is the entity that carries the mantel. It reminds me I belong to an alive network of mutual aid, a movement, and a tradition. And through events like the Convergence of Intentional Communities, more and more people young and old see themselves as making up this movement—even as we make up many other movements to which we weave ourselves. The FIC has shown to me a real commitment to understanding what intentional communities mean to people, not just through their plentiful courses & workshops, but also through my specialty as an academic researcher.

Four years ago my partner and I were living an isolated life raising our kids in the suburbs and we felt like we really wanted a village to raise our kids with.
