Join professor Zach Rubin for an academic presentation on the state of the intentional communities movement.

About the event

People of all walks of life are starting and joining communities as a more attractive living option than what the normal housing market offers. Communitarians often report greater connectedness, support, safety, health, and enjoyment of life.

During this presentation, you’ll learn about current demographics, trends, and tendencies of the Intentional Communities movement from a recent study conducted by Zach Rubin, Yana Ludwig (of the FIC board), and Don Willis (currently of the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences). The 1-hour presentation will be followed by a 30 minute Q&A.

In this webinar, you’ll learn about:

  • What the distribution of various major characteristics are in the Intentional Communities movement
  • What the historical distribution of those characteristics were and how that shows change in the movement today
  • How communities and researchers have variously defined “success” for communities, and why how we measure it matters
  • Characteristics that are more frequently associated with successful groups today
