Free land on a tropical island!?
Pitcairn, a small remote paradise-like island in the South Pacific is running out of people. They are giving land for free to people who want to settle there. Could it make a good Ecovillage location?
“With an aging population of around 50 people, this British Overseas Territory is seeking suitably qualified individuals and families who would enjoy the challenge of helping to build a vibrant and sustainable future in this far-flung settlement.”
Pitcairn is roughly 2170km (1350 miles) east south-east of Tahiti, while the Islands’ administrative headquarters is in Auckland, New Zealand, 5310km (3300 miles) away.

yes, a most interesting phenomenon… we at ‘East of Eden’ and EdenHope’ are at the other side of the S Pacific …and as fact the land we have is endowed …there is no cost for it… But even in our remote paradise, the ‘paradime’ out there has little appreciation of spiritual realities …and so we are vigilant in maintaining a positive relationship with the local ptb… even if it like driving a nail into convrete. Best wishes to all who take up the challenge…!

Interesting. Pitcairn has always intrigued me as it is literally the most remote inhabited island in the world. It was born of a mutiny, as has had a rather tumultuous history throughout its 300+ years of habitation.
Fascinating that the island is now welcoming immigrants and trying to develop their economy. At the same time, they seem to have modern communications like telephone and internet which would make the stay much less isolating than in the past.
